Here is a cropped out portion of a piece I worked on today. I love trees and I have to stop myself from putting them in every picture. Vines are always fun too and they are something I doodle whenever I'm thinking. I've done a lot of thinking lately on my goals, how far I've some and how far I want to go. I see a lot of hard work ahead of me and some days I feel like it is hopeless, other days I feel very hopeful. An awesome mentor type person shared this quote this week:
"Everyone is looking for the elevator. But there is no elevator. You have to take the stairs." - Brian McDonald Some days I look at another person's work and I realize that I am so far behind. That I should have been working as hard as I am now, all along. I lost years of practice and study, all because I was convinced that I couldn't make it. It's silly to look back though. Things happened the way they did for a reason. I'm here now, putting in the effort. Going to see what I can do. “You don't need to go back in time to be awesome; you just have to start right now. Regretting that you didn't start earlier is a great distraction from moving on your dream today, and the reality is that today is earlier than tomorrow.” ― Jon Acuff, Start: Punch Fear in the Face, Escape Average and Do Work That Matters So yeah, what he said... MistyThanks for stopping by. I'm a published illustrator working on getting better every day. My goal for my work is for it to be charming, bright and endearing. I share my ongoing work progress online because I welcome all the encouragement and feedback I can get as I try to improve my skills. I currently have a children's book project that I am nearing the end of. Archives
